Stroke (CVA) Rehabilitation
Stroke Rehabilitation focuses on the individual’s capabilities to maximize recovery from the physical, cognitive, and psychological impairments caused by a stroke. Our goal is to promote the individuals return to the highest level of function based on their specific needs and goals. We achieve this through a comprehensive therapy program with use of compensatory strategies, strength training, neuromuscular re-education to improve balance and coordination, developing new cognitive and behavioral strategies to compensate for any deficits, and improving speech and swallow abilities. Because stroke survivors often have complex rehabilitation needs, progress and recovery are unique for each person. Although a majority of functional abilities may be restored soon after a stroke, recovery is an ongoing process.
We treat the following medical conditions:
- Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA) / Stroke
- Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA)
- Subdural Hematoma
- Intracranial Bleed
