Neurological Rehabilitation uses a variety of skilled techniques to address the wide range of impairments resulting from degenerative disorders. Patients benefit from three therapy programs at Meadowbrook. Occupational Therapy provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s), such as eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and meal preparations. Speech Language Pathologists help patients with speaking, reading, writing, or swallowing; as well as activities to improve cognitive impairments, such as problems with concentration, attention, memory and poor judgement. Physical Therapy provides exercise programs to improve movement, such as walking and transfers, prevent or decrease weakness caused by lack of use, manage spasticity and pain and maintain range of motion.
